First assignment: The European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching. An outline approach. 

  • Read the chapter you have been assigned and give a short presentation with the main points or issues introduced in this chapter. You can use a maximum of 3 slides in your presentation. The presentation should last about 10 minutes.
   

Second assignment: Main issues on Foreign Language Teaching and Learning.

 

Each of you will receive an article to read, which you must process and understand to prepare a presentation for your class-mates. It must follow the same rules as the previous presentation. 

  • Remember to:
  • introduce yourself first.  
  • Introduce the topic or point you will talk about.
  • Outline the most important aspects at the beginning.
  • Explain each one clearly and briefly.
  • Thank everybody for listening.

Third assignment: Designing a didactic unit.

You will work collaboratively to design a didactic unit that you will have to give and present to the rest of the class the last week of the course.

You must select a course and the content of your unit.

Your unit must be contextualised and it will contain the following sections:

  • Title of the unit.
  • The global FLT (Foreign Language Teaching) and educational context.
  • Present EFL (English as a Foreign Language) regulations.
  • The school context.
  • The group characteristics.
  • Period of the year the children are doing the unit.
  • Competences and skills to be developed.
  • Objectives.
  • Contents.
  • Methodology to be used.
  • Sequency of tasks or project procedures, explaining objectives, contents and/or skills to developed and materials to be used. It will include a brief explanation of the task.
  • Assessment and evaluation criteria and procedures.

 

 

 

 

 

All your assignments must have a feasible result. All corrections and feedback will be used to prepare the definitive version of your work. You will be evaluated considering both the result and the process of developing your tasks or project work.
